In the Rif model, a classically elegant cut meets modern striking elements. Inspired by the traditional Nordic fisherman's jumper, the wide-cut turtle-neck collar offers cosy comfort without constricting the neck. The high quality shoulder section gives the jumper a virile, powerful look. Thanks to the supple material, the body-hugging, long-cut fit comfortably follows every movement.
Our model Marco is 1.83 m tall and wears size S. Our sizes are based on the usual clothing standards, so we recommend you choose the size you usually feel most comfortable in.
Made from our fine Portuguese virgin wool, the Rif jumper is comfortable to wear next to the skin. Thanks to the properties of this wool, which are optimally adapted to warm climates, moisture is immediately regulated by the lightweight material. On cooler days and balmy summer nights, the model is also ideal as a warming top layer.
We do not chemically treat our wool to remove the smallest vegetation, such as tiny grass fibres. These are sometimes visible in the material, but so fine that they are not noticeable on the skin. By leaving these fibres in the wool fabric, we preserve its naturally multi-faceted, pleasing surface colour. This quality is not only maintained in our undyed champagne colour, but also in other colours available for which we only use GOTS certified dyes.
You want to know more about the background of our summer collection? We asked Marco directly a lot of questions and he answers them here.
People have been living from sheep farming for many centuries and by no means only in the northern regions. "Rif" is the name of the Moroccan Berber tribe that according to tradition brought the ancestors of today's Merino sheep to the Iberian Peninsula and settled there.
